US advises tourists to postpone travel to Mumbai

United States of America has advised tourist to postpone their travel to Mumbai for at least the next 48-72 hours due to the current terror attack in Mumbai, was informed by the latest travel advisory which was issued by the Consulate General of the United States of America. American tourists were asked to take shelter at their current location and contact family and friends, and have also asked the American citizens to contact the Department of State Mumbai Task Force in case of emergency and assistance.

It further stated that Americans throughout India should be vigilant about security at all times and has advised them to monitor local news reports, vary their routes and times in carrying out daily activities, and consider the level of security present while visiting public places which include religious sites, hotels, restaurants, entertainment and recreation venues.
