| | Uttarakhand Tourism will be developing Hathipaon, a high altitude destination near capital city Dehradun, into a major Ecotourism destination shortly. Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) has recently floated pre-qualification notices for destination development of Hathipaon on Public-Private-Partnership (PPP). One of the key works will be connecting Hathipaon by rope way with both Dehradun and Mussoorie. The proposed 11 km long rope way on completion will become one of the longest rope ways in the world.
The government has conducted the viability study of the project and acquisition of the land has been completed for the proposed development at the base area, as well as in Hathipaon and Mussoorie for the purpose. The land being acquired by the government will be handed over to the project SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) free from all encumbrances, including clearances from all departments concerned of the state government.
