Uttarakhand unveils Home Stay Scheme to promote tourism and provide employment

As part of the initiative of State government, Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) recently launched Home Stay Development Scheme along the trekking routes in upper Himalayas to promote tourism and provide employment to local communities in the region. According to an official source from UTDB, under the scheme, it will involve local communities in the upper Himalayas to provide their homes for tourist accommodation. It will also ask banks to provide loans to homes stay stakeholders in the region to upgrade their homes according to accommodation unit standards.
