The regional cooperation of four Central European countries – Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and Czech Republic – popularly known as Visegrad Group or V4 will collectively promote the region as an outbound tourism destination for Indian travellers. The tourism officials of the four countries, who are currently on a five city road show in Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai and Mumbai, will explore ways to promote travel to the Visegrad countries in future. India and Brazil are the two new source markets identified by Visegrad Group to promote tourism in the coming years. Celebrations, a tourism consultant, which currently represents Polish Tourism in India, has been appointed as the Project consultant for V4 in India.
Apart from Poland, all the other countries of the Group are new as a tourism destination in the Indian market. According to Emilia Kubik, Specialist Foreign Markets Section, Polish Tourist Organisation, the Visegrad Group tourism boards has earmarked a budget of 60,000 Euros for destination promotion for the Indian market. They collectively have an annual budget of three lakh Euros for destination promotions globally. |
