VisitFinland, the Finnish Tourist Board in India is keen on promoting Helsinki and Rovaniemi in India next year. This was revealed during the pre-Christmas festivity event organised recently by the Embassy of Finland in association with VisitFinland in New Delhi. The event was attended by a large number of travel trade agents in the capital and National Capital Region. The importance of Christmas celebrations in Finland and across the world was highlighted at the event.
Terhi Hakala, Ambassador, Embassy of Finland in India said, “Christmas is one of the most important celebrations in Finland. The country’s captivating seasons and architecture are its assets. We work closely with Visit Finland to promote the destination.”
The country received 6, 4000 overnight tourists from India last year. The tourist board believes that frequent updates of Finnish tourism products in India, among travel trade and end consumers will increase tourist arrivals to Finland.
