The World Travel Awards 2009 has received nominations of more than 900 Asian travel companies, destinations, hotels, resorts and airlines. The final list for Asia, nominated by travel agents and industry professionals worldwide, features Indian hotels like The Imperial, New Delhi; The Oberoi Rajvilas, Jaipur; The Oberoi, Udaipur; The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Mumbai and Trident Hilton, Gurgaon in the category, Asia’s Leading Hotel, while Incredible India has been nominated in Asia’s Leading Tourist Board category. Winners will be announced at the Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott Hotel in London’s Mayfair on November 7, before World Travel Market (WTM). The World Travel Awards Grand Final will take place at the same venue the next day.
There are more than 100 categories for Asia. Asiana Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways, China Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Japan Airlines, Korean Air, Malaysia Airlines, Royal Brunei Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Sri Lankan Airlines and Thai Airways International have all been nominated in the key category of Asia’s Leading Airlines. |
