World Travel Market launches first-ever cruise programme

According to a report in traveldailynews.com by Vicky Karantzavelou, a cruise programme has been organised for the first time for the forthcoming World Travel Market (WTM) exhibition in London. Telegraph and Travel Weekly cruise correspondent Jane Archer has helped WTM organise the programme, which includes a high-level panel debate involving some of the most senior cruise executives and a training session for travel agents. Archer will chair the panel debate which takes place on Tuesday November 10, 2009 from 12.30 – 1.30pm. The speakers include: Jo Rzymowska, Associate Vice-President and General Manager, Royal Caribbean Cruises; Stephen Park, General Manager, UK, Norwegian Cruise Line; Andrew Magowan, Director EMEA, Yachts of Seabourn and Peter Pate, Chairman, MSC Cruises.

Cruise is the fastest growing sector of the travel industry with eight ships launched to the UK market alone this year and a further 10 ships to go on sale in 2010. The high-level panel will assess how cruising is weathering the financial storm and trends in the cruising industry.
