| | According to a Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) report, International Air Transport Association's (IATA) latest traffic statistics for September 2008 have revealed an alarmingly fast-paced and widespread decline in traffic, which even the drop in oil prices and deep discounting by carriers worldwide may not be able to stem. The industry body is now forecasting that losses may be even deeper than their forecast USD 5.2 billion for this year.

Overall passenger traffic tumbled 2.9 per cent in the month, while capacity increased just 1.1 per cent.
