WTO in association with KTM, MTO to help Kerala Tourism promote Wayanad

Wayanad Tourism Organisation (WTO) in association with Kerala Travel Mart Society (KTM) and Malabar Tourism Organisation (MTO) will help Kerala Tourism promote Wayanad in the domestic sector. Revealing its plans for this year, WTO informed that it will be organising FAM trips in Wayanad region for tourism stake holders in and outside Kerala in March this year, participate in road shows in other states along with Kerala Tourism. K R Vancheeswaran, General Secretary, WTO mentioned that the Organisation is planning to organise four FAM trips this year with 25 tourism stakeholders in each trip.

Furthermore, WTO has asked Kerala Tourism to support them in maintaining tourist destinations in Wayanad, as well as provide better tourism experience for tourists visiting Wayanad. As part of this initiative, WTO had earlier proposed to develop ropeway and visitor interpretation centre in Edakkal Caves. Edakkal Caves are two natural caves located 1000 metres high on Ambukutty Mala 25 kms from Kalpetta in the Wayanad district of Kerala in India's Western Ghats.
