Wayanad Tourism Organisation (WTO) recently unveiled ‘SPLASH 2009,’ a nine-day programme to be held from July 3-11, 2009. The programme with monsoons as the theme will offer a host of both indoor and outdoor activities and will be promoted extensively by WTO to attract tourists and boost economy in the region. WTO plans to appoint an event management company for organising the entire programme.
`SPLASH 2009’ was launched by Vinay Luthra, Managing Director, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC), during the road show held in Bangalore organised by Kerala Tourism. The function was attended by the travel fraternity from Kerala and Bangalore.
Talking to TravelBiz Monitor, K Vancheeswaran, General Secretary, WTO informed that WTO is planning to organise SPLASH 2009 every year during the monsoon season. It will organise this programme on the lines of Samba Carnival in Brazil. It will promote the programme aggressively at the road shows organised by the Kerala Tourism. Besides, Bangalore, it will launch this programme in several places such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Surat, Mumbai, Nagpur, Kolkata, Delhi and Pune. |
