Having established a significant presence in the online travel segment, travel portal, Yatra.com, has now forayed into the Rs 300-crore digital marketing space. “Though online travel remains our core area of operations, digital marketing will comprise another revenue source for us," Nikhil Rungta, Marketing Head Yatra.com told PTI. The company is targeting a significant pie of the Rs 300-crore industry, which has been clocking a robust 35-40 per cent growth per annum. Scenting an immense potential in this business, Rungta described the industry's growth as healthy, considering that it has taken root only recently. Around one lakh surfers visit Yatra's travel portal every day, he said, adding that this base constitutes a very strong platform for companies wanting to establish, promote and build their brands.
