IndiGo appoints Vikram Singh Mehta and Air Chief Marshal B.S. Dhanoa (Retd.) as Independent Non-Executive Directors

The Board of Directors (Board) of InterGlobe Aviation Limited (IndiGo) has appointed Vikram Singh Mehta and Air Chief Marshal B. S. Dhanoa (Retd.) as the Independent Non-Executive Directors, subject to receipt of security clearance from the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) and approval of the Members of the Company.

Mehta will be appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director in the vacancy caused by the second term of Dr. Anupam Khanna having come to an end on March 26, 2022. The appointment of Mehta will be effective from the date of receipt of security clearance from the MoCA.

Mehta is currently Chairman and Distinguished Fellow of CSEP (Centre for Social and Economic Progress). He was the Executive Chairman of Brookings Institution India Center and Senior Fellow, Brookings Institution from 2012 to 2020. Prior to that, he was the Chairman of the Shell Group of Companies in India (1994–2012); Chief Executive of Shell Markets and Shell Chemicals, Egypt (1992–1993).

Similarly, Dhanoa (Retd.) will be appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director in the vacancy which will arise on Meleveetil Damodaran stepping down as an Independent Director on attaining the age of 75 years on May 3, 2022. The appointment of ACM Dhanoa as an Independent Director will be effective from the date of receipt of security clearance from the MoCA or May 4, 2022, whichever is later. He is an alumnus of St. George’s College, Mussoorie. He then moved to Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun, and later joined the National Defence Academy (NDA) in June 1974.
